I don't have a Costco membership but I have a friend who does. So we went there today. That's a scary place. I casually mentioned that I'd like to look at cameras, specifically, Nikon. I have one now and I really like it. When we had our lousy weather last week and I was taking pictures of the hummingbirds, most of them didn't turn out because the camera was focusing behind the hummingbirds and not where I wanted it to focus. That was my first complaint with this camera and the realization that I didn't have control of the depth of field and I want that. I wish that hadn't happened because now I wanted more from my camera, i.e., I wanted to do my own focusing and maybe I even wanted some more telephoto. Costco being Costco...you know what I mean...they have more than you want and they have things you didn't know you want...they had a Nikon D5000, on sale, almost $200 off, and that box just flew into our cart. I wrestled with it three times and attempted to put it back on the shelf, but I was unsuccessful. So I have a new camera to learn how to operate and it certainly isn't a point and shoot. I might have to find a class to learn how to use it. However, I do have 90 days should I decide to return it. Hmmmmm, don't think so.
I also wanted to buy refills for my Sonicare toothbrush so a package of refills ended up in the cart. Then I found a box of clear plastic bags and the only way I can put shredded paper into my recycle bin is in a clear plastic bag, so they went into the cart. Then I found the turkey breast all ready for the oven and then the fleece sleeveless vest in blue. See what I mean about them having things I didn't even know I wanted???? So the toothbrush refills went back on the shelf because I actually still have one refill left. Notice I didn't mention putting the camera back. It hadn't worked the first three attempts so I wasn't going to try again. You do know don't you that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and hoping for a different result? Well, I saw the handwriting on the wall and didn't want any labels put on me so I kept the darn thing. Clearly, it was meant to come home with me.
Am I the only person this happens to at Costco or have some of you experienced similar circumstances? Now I know why I don't have a Costco membership...it's too costly.
More sunshine please,
Jeana
