On the Way to CA

I haven't been posting the last few days because I've just been getting ready to go to California.  Not only was I not enjoying cleaning the house, washing and ironing clothes, going through my list of things to do, I figured it wasn't too noteworthy and I wasn't going to bore anyone with the details.

I'm at SeaTac airport now and waiting to board.  I did something different this time...I didn't get to the airport three hours early like I would normally do.  My flight leaves at 6:40 AM and I was picked up by Shuttle Express at 4:10 AM and I just didn't want to get up any earlier than 3:30 AM.  So it was a real test on my stress levels.  I was doing pretty good once I got on the Shuttle Express van.  There was one other person on the van and we were on 405 heading for the airport.  I was thinking that this would work out just fine when the driver got off the freeway.  What the hay????  My stress level started to go up but I convinced myself to go with the flow, that things would work out.  He had trouble finding the house but found it eventually and then we were back on the freeway.  Phew, what a relief.

When we got to the airport it wasn't too crowded in the departures area and the Alaska Airlines outside check in was empty!!!  Things were looking up.  The line that I picked to stand in for security was the longest line...of course...if I'm in it it's going to be the longest.  After I got through security it finally dawned on me that gate N9 was one of the satellite gates and I'd have to ride the train to get there.  Bummer. So I get to the train just as the doors are closing and have to wait for the next one.  The wait was two minutes only and it went fast.  By this time I've realized that I don't have anything to worry about and relax considerably.

Before I left home I'd fixed myself a protein smoothee in a small blender and I couldn't get the part with the smoothee in it to separate from the chopper part, so no breakfast before leaving the house.  I love the protein smoothee and I really missed not having it.So I started looking for bananas and saw them at  Starbucks.  This was my first time to go to a Starbucks and I walked away with a banana and bottle of water.  I'm not a coffee drinker but they had the shortest line and I was starving.

We haven't had rain for two days and it's been glorious.  It did rain on the way to the airport and I'm glad to be getting away from it.

I don't now if I'll be able to post tonight but I will tomorrow for sure. The people I'm pet/house sitting for leave tomorrow for Australia so I'm thinking I might be too busy tonight to post.  I apologize if this sounds disjointed but now that I have a bit of time I wanted to write a quick post.  Activity is  going on around the door to the airplane now so I think I'd better sign off for now.  More later!!

Yeah sunshine,

Jeana

  2. Glad you made it to the plane. Right now you should be in sunny California. (Not sunny here in San Diego, though.) Or almost here. Enjoy Palm Springs - you're arriving the same time the snowbirds are leaving!
